Greece - Choosing the Right Destination

The Greek Archipelago covers around 7,500 km of the country’s total 16,000 km coastline. These islands are split into seven definitive groups, and each one has its one special wonder to offer. From sheltered bays and coves, long or short sandy beaches, pebble beaches, coastal caves, and steep cliff overhangs to dark colored sand and coastal wetlands.

These are the islands of prehistory, of legend, of Persues, Achilles and the Minotaur. These are the islands of olives, olive oil, and white cheese. Some of the most beautiful town shots are taken along the coast of many an island.

The Seven groups are:

The Northeastern Aegean Islands, The Sporades, Islands of Argosaronic, The Cyclades, The Dodecanese, Crete, and The Ionian Islands

Since there are so many, We will only mention a few by name for a perfect stopover.

When visiting the Northeastern Aegean Islands check out Lesbos and Samos.

In the Sporades visit Evia and Hydra.

In the Cyclades, consider any combination of Amorgos, Anafi, Andros, Antiparos, Delos, Ios, Kea, Mykonos, Naxos, Paros, Santorini, Donousa, Irakleia, and Koufonisia.

In the Dodecanese try out Kalymnos, Kos, Lipsi, Leros, Nisyros, Patmos, Rhodes and Symi.

Crete is a great place for a day visit and includes Heraklion.

The Ionian Islands have many locations, among them are Ithaca, Corfu, Kefalonia, Lefkada, Antipaxi, Ereikoussa, Kalamos, and Skorpios.
