Sikinos Island
Sikinos has two main villages, Kastro and Chora. Kastro is the largest village, with its main attraction being the maze paths. On the other hand, Chora is the capital, offering a superior landscape view with its unspoiled picturesque land and a trail of windmills.
Sikinos is blessed with a number of pretty beaches. The sandy beach at the port of Alopronoia is a popular beach for swimming. Also, there are a few remote beaches, including Agios Georgios, Dialiskari and Agios Panteleimonas. These can be accessed from the harbour by a tour boat.
On the summit of the mountain at Agia Marina, you will find the ruins of an ancient city (possibly an agora and a temple of Apollo Pythios). Lower down, in the ancient cemetery, a temple-shaped funerary building of the 3rd century AD that became later a Christian church, incorporated in the Episkopi Monastery.
